The Chapel is led by a team of elders who provide the spiritual oversight, supported by deacons in the practical offices and ministries of the church. Together they form the Stewardship Team who are acknowledged and recognised by the congregation to oversee the running and development of the church.
The Chapel operates with it's own Trustees as an independent charity (Charitable Incorporated Organisation - CIO). As we are keen to balance accountability and minimal hierarchy we are supported by mentors and Trustees from the Countess of Huntingdon’s Connexion, the umbrella organisation of 21 churches in which we sit. A Trustee joins us at our Annual Review where the Membership decides on the strategy and structure for the coming year, including the mission organisations to be supported and the team to lead this.
We are continually engaged in reviewing what we consider to be the best and most effective Bible-based leadership structure that will provide the support for continuing growth. In essence we refer to key scriptures such as Ephesians 4:1 Corinthians 12:27-28; Acts 13:1; 20:28 and 1 Peter :5 to identify the role of ministry gifts, elders and deacons, and we look to the Lord to help us discover and recognise members of the fellowship who are engaged in these ministries and callings, or to provide them where we lack.
